Mental Health Support Information

Mental Health Support Information

Attached is the local mental health support services information for University of Salford/Greater Manchester area.

You can use this guide for referrals and signposting.
Update September 2025 - please be aware that the University Wellbeing service can no longer refer directly into the local Crisis Team/Home Treatment Team. Referrals to Crisis Team/HTT can only be made via the MH liaison at A&E or through secondary mental health services. Clients experiencing mental health crisis but not under secondary care or requiring A&E should be signposted to the local self-referral options in the document and referred to the University Wellbeing Team if they require University support.

Please note, there is a separate article and further guidance for the Greater Manchester Universities Mental Health Service, along with a referral form, if you feel that a student needs to be referred into this service for more complex and enduring mental health needs requiring longer term support.
